Terms

Last updated 5 November 2026. A short plain-language draft for the development period. It will be replaced before the first release.

The software

FigLock is free, open-source software. You can use, copy and change it under either the MIT License or the Apache License 2.0, whichever you prefer. Those licenses are the terms for the software, and they say it comes without warranty.

Development status

FigLock is in development. It has not been released and has had no external security audit. Please don't store real passwords, tokens or other secrets in anything built from it until an audit has been completed and its findings published.

Your vault is your responsibility

  • Only you hold the keys. We can't recover your vault or reset your master password.
  • If you lose both your master password and your Secret Key, your data is gone for good. Keep your Emergency Kit somewhere safe.
  • Keep your own backups of anything you can't afford to lose.
  • You choose which agents and devices may use your secrets. Approve only what you understand.

Third-party services

If you store your vault in Google Drive, iCloud Drive or another service, that service's own terms and privacy policy apply to it. We don't control those services or their availability.
